Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 6 equal squares.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto one half of each pastry square, leaving a border around the edges. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg, then fold the pastry over the filling to create a triangle. Press the edges together with a fork to seal.
- Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the empanadas are puffed and golden brown.
- Allow the empanadas to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
