  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft.

  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 6 equal squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto one half of each pastry square, leaving a border around the edges. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.

  • Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the empanadas are puffed and golden brown.
