Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1/4 cup water, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and 1/4 cup minced garlic. Add the sliced flank steak and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup chicken broth, 1/4 cup hoisin sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and garlic mixture, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the beef is browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender.
- Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour in the hoisin sauce mixture and stir to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the beef and broccoli are fully cooked.
- Serve the extra garlic beef and broccoli over cooked white rice and enjoy!
