Adobong Sitaw, a popular Filipino dish, has a rich history dating back to the Spanish colonial era. The dish features crisp string beans cooked in a savory blend of soy sauce, vinegar, and extra garlic, giving it a distinct flavor. Renowned Filipino chefs, such as Claude Tayag, have elevated this humble dish by adding their own unique twists, making it a staple in many Filipino households. In the Philippines, the best versions of Adobong Sitaw can be found in local eateries and home kitchens, where the dish is often served alongside steamed rice. The key to perfecting this dish lies in the generous amount of garlic, which infuses the string beans with a robust, aromatic flavor. For a delicious alternative, some chefs incorporate coconut milk or shrimp paste, adding depth to the dish. Whether enjoyed in a bustling Filipino market or prepared at home, Adobong Sitaw with extra garlic is a true culinary delight.
