Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 4 medium zucchinis
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Using a spiralizer, spiralize the zucchinis into noodles. If you don't have a spiralizer, you can use a vegetable peeler to create long, thin strips.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the zucchini noodles to the pan and toss to coat with the garlic-infused oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are just tender but still have a slight crunch.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle the zucchini noodles with grated parmesan cheese. Toss to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Divide the zucchini noodles among serving plates and garnish with fresh basil. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Zucchini noodles, also known as "zoodles," have gained popularity in recent years as a low-carb, gluten-free alternative to traditional pasta. This dish originated in Italy, where it is known as "zucchine alla poverella." Chefs and home cooks alike have embraced zucchini noodles for their versatility and health benefits. The best zucchini noodles can be found in Italian restaurants, particularly in regions known for their fresh produce, such as Tuscany and Sicily. To make perfect zucchini noodles, it's essential to use a spiralizer to achieve the desired thin, noodle-like shape. Alternatively, some chefs use a julienne peeler for a similar effect. Today, zucchini noodles are a staple in many healthy eating and vegetarian diets, and they can be enjoyed with a variety of sauces and toppings.
