The history of wood-grilled salmon with lemon butter sauce dates back to the Pacific Northwest, where the abundance of fresh salmon and the region's love for outdoor grilling inspired this iconic dish. Renowned chefs like Tom Douglas in Seattle and Vitaly Paley in Portland have elevated the preparation of this dish, infusing it with local flavors and culinary expertise. The key to a perfect wood-grilled salmon lies in the quality of the fish, the smoky aroma from the wood fire, and the delicate balance of tangy lemon and rich butter in the sauce. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in top seafood restaurants along the West Coast.
