  • 1/4 cup lettuce leaves
  • 1/4 cup sliced tomato

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  • Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • While the patties are cooking, spread the mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom half of each hamburger bun.
  • Place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on top of the sauce on each bun.
  • Once the burger patties are done, place them on the buns and top each with a few slices of red onion.
