The addition of cranberries and walnuts brings a delightful twist to this timeless dish, adding a burst of tartness and crunch. Renowned chefs like Oscar Tschirky, who created the original Waldorf Salad, have inspired countless variations of this recipe. Today, the best versions of this salad can be found in upscale restaurants and hotels, where chefs take pride in using fresh, high-quality ingredients. The key to a perfect Waldorf Salad lies in the balance of flavors and textures, making the cranberries and walnuts essential components. While the traditional recipe calls for apples, celery, mayonnaise, and grapes, the addition of cranberries and walnuts elevates the salad to a new level of sophistication.
