Ingredients
- 1 loaf of Italian bread, unsliced
- 1/2 pound of thinly sliced ham
- 1/2 pound of thinly sliced salami
- 1/2 pound of thinly sliced provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup of roasted red peppers, sliced
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Slice the Italian bread horizontally into top and bottom halves.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper to make the dressing.
- Brush the cut sides of the bread with the dressing.
- Layer the bottom half of the bread with the thinly sliced ham, salami, provolone cheese, and roasted red peppers.
- Place the top half of the bread over the fillings to create a sandwich.
- Wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is heated through.
- Allow the torta to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
