  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place the tofu cubes on a paper towel-lined plate and press with another paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  • Pour in the vegetable broth and the soy sauce mixture. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the tofu to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic sauce and vegetables. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Steam the vegetables until they are tender but still crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Transfer the steamed vegetables to a serving platter and arrange the tofu on top.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
