Tofu and Broccoli in Garlic Sauce
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cubed
- 2 cups of broccoli florets
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1/2 cup of vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1/2 cup of vegetable broth. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the cubed tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the broccoli. Add the cooked tofu back into the skillet. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu and broccoli.
- Drizzle 1 teaspoon of sesame oil over the tofu and broccoli. Stir to combine.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve the tofu and broccoli in garlic sauce over cooked rice. Enjoy!
