Ingredients
- 4 sheets of nori (seaweed)
- 2 cups of sushi rice, cooked
- 1/2 pound of sashimi-grade fish (such as tuna or salmon), thinly sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 1/4 cup of pickled ginger
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- Wasabi to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Lay a sheet of nori on a clean, dry surface, shiny side down.
- Moisten your hands with water and grab a small handful of sushi rice, about 1/2 cup. Place it in the center of the nori and spread it out evenly, leaving a small border at the top.
- Arrange a few slices of fish, avocado, and cucumber in the center of the rice.
- Add a small amount of pickled ginger and a dab of wasabi to taste.
- Starting from the bottom corner, roll the nori and rice over the filling, tucking and rolling tightly to form a cone shape.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten the edge of the nori to seal the temaki roll.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make additional temaki rolls.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish.
- Serve with soy sauce for dipping and enjoy immediately.
