Ingredients
- 1 cup tamarind pulp
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 lime, juiced
- Ice cubes
- Lime slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of tamarind pulp and 2 cups of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
- Strain the tamarind mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of sugar until dissolved.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of water and the juice of 1 lime to the pitcher. Stir well to combine.
- Refrigerate the tamarind agua fresca until chilled, about 1 hour.
- Serve the tamarind agua fresca over ice cubes, garnished with lime slices. Enjoy!
