Sweet potato fries have a rich history dating back to the 15th century in the Caribbean. These delectable fries are made from sweet potatoes, which are a great source of vitamins and fiber. The dish gained popularity in the United States in the 20th century and has since become a beloved side dish or snack. The addition of a creamy garlic aioli dipping sauce adds a burst of flavor, making it a favorite among food enthusiasts. Chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Bobby Flay have popularized this dish, and it can be found in trendy restaurants across the globe. For the best version of this dish, head to New Orleans, where chefs expertly season and crisp sweet potato fries to perfection. The key to making this dish shine is to achieve the ideal balance of crispy exterior and tender interior, and the garlic aioli should be creamy with a zesty garlic kick. Alternatively, some chefs opt for a spicy sriracha aioli for a unique twist on this classic pairing.
