Ingredients
- 4 pounds of fresh clams
- 1/4 cup of white wine
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the clams under cold water, scrubbing off any dirt or sand. Discard any clams with broken shells or that do not close when tapped.
- In a large pot, add the white wine, minced garlic, and butter. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the clams to the pot and cover with a lid. Steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the clams have opened. Discard any clams that do not open.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer the steamed clams to a serving bowl, leaving the liquid in the pot.
- Season the liquid with salt and pepper to taste, then pour it over the clams in the serving bowl.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
