Spicy Tofu Stir-Fry is a popular and flavorful dish that originated in China. This dish has a rich history, with its roots in Sichuan cuisine, known for its bold and spicy flavors. The dish gained popularity in the West due to the rise of interest in plant-based diets and the versatility of tofu as a protein source. Renowned chefs like Fuchsia Dunlop have popularized Sichuan cuisine and the use of tofu in stir-fries. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in authentic Sichuan restaurants, where chefs skillfully balance the heat of the chilies with the creaminess of the tofu. The key to a great Spicy Tofu Stir-Fry lies in using high-quality tofu and mastering the art of stir-frying to achieve the perfect texture and flavor. For a twist, some chefs also incorporate fermented black beans or Sichuan peppercorns to elevate the dish's complexity.
