  • 8 oz of spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 8 oz of penne pasta
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the red pepper flakes and chicken broth to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and cooked sausage. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sausage and pepper mixture.
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and serve hot.
