  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of honey, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of hot sauce, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

The history of Spicy Honey Glazed Baked Chicken Drumsticks dates back to the southern United States, where the combination of spicy and sweet flavors has long been a staple in traditional cooking. This dish has evolved over time, with various chefs and home cooks adding their own unique twists. The succulent chicken drumsticks are marinated in a blend of honey, spices, and a touch of heat, then baked to perfection. The side of creamy garlic mashed potatoes complements the spicy sweetness of the chicken, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. This dish is a favorite in many restaurants across the southern region, known for its comforting and satisfying qualities. For the best version of this dish, look for a restaurant that uses high-quality, locally sourced chicken and fresh, aromatic garlic for the mashed potatoes. The key to getting this dish right lies in achieving the perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and savory flavors, as well as ensuring that the chicken is tender and juicy. For a unique twist, some chefs may opt to grill the chicken drumsticks instead of baking them, adding a smoky charred flavor to the dish.
