Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp paprika, 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp onion powder, 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp black pepper, and 1 tsp salt to create the dry rub.
  • Rub the dry rub all over the beef brisket, covering it evenly. Let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
  • In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup Dijon mustard, 1/4 cup honey, and 1/4 cup hot sauce to make the BBQ sauce.
  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the BBQ sauce over the top, ensuring it is fully coated.
  • Cover the roasting pan with foil and place it in the preheated oven. Cook for 6 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
  • Once cooked, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  • Serve the spicy BBQ brisket with extra BBQ sauce on the side. Enjoy!
