Italian

Spaghetti with marinara sauce has a rich history dating back to the 16th century in Naples, Italy. The dish gained popularity as Italian immigrants brought it to the United States in the late 19th century. Renowned chefs like Lidia Bastianich and Mario Batali have popularized the dish in modern times. The key to a perfect marinara sauce lies in using fresh, ripe tomatoes, garlic, onions, and a blend of Italian herbs. Some argue that the best version of this dish can be found in the charming trattorias of Naples, where the sauce is simmered for hours to achieve a deep, rich flavor. Whether served with meatballs or simply as a vegetarian delight, spaghetti with marinara sauce remains a beloved classic.
