  • 1 cup of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of diced cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup of diced red onion

Greek

The history of Souvlaki Plate dates back to ancient Greece, where it was a popular street food. This traditional Greek dish consists of skewered and grilled meat, typically pork, chicken, or lamb, served with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and a side of Greek salad. The succulent meat is marinated in a blend of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs, giving it a flavorful and tender texture. Today, Souvlaki Plate is enjoyed in Greek restaurants worldwide, with some of the best versions found in Athens and Thessaloniki. The key to a perfect Souvlaki Plate lies in the marination of the meat and the quality of the tzatziki sauce. For a unique twist, some chefs also incorporate vegetables like bell peppers and onions onto the skewers. Whether enjoyed as a quick street food or a sit-down meal, Souvlaki Plate continues to be a beloved dish that captures the essence of Greek cuisine.
