Shrimp Parmesan is a delectable Italian-American dish that originated in the United States. It is a variation of the classic Chicken Parmesan, where succulent shrimp is breaded, fried, and then smothered in marinara sauce and melted cheese. This dish has become a popular menu item in many Italian restaurants across the country. Chefs like Lidia Bastianich and Mario Batali have popularized this dish, adding their own unique twists. The best versions of Shrimp Parmesan can be found in Italian eateries in New York City, Boston, and along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The key to a perfect Shrimp Parmesan lies in the freshness of the shrimp, the quality of the marinara sauce, and the gooeyness of the melted cheese. For a unique twist, some chefs substitute the marinara sauce with a creamy Alfredo sauce, creating a rich and indulgent variation of the dish.
