Ingredients
- 2 tuna steaks (6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, mix together 1/4 cup of sesame seeds, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic.
- Coat each tuna steak in the sesame seed mixture, pressing the seeds onto the fish to create a crust.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat.
- Sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness of the steaks.
- Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve the sesame crusted tuna with the soy sauce mixture as a dipping sauce.
