Seared Ahi Tuna Salad

Ingredients
- 1 lb ahi tuna steaks
- 8 cups mixed salad greens
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp sesame oil, 2 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp honey, and 1 tsp grated fresh ginger to make the dressing. Set aside.
- Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the tuna steaks and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the outside is browned but the inside is still rare. Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes.
- While the tuna is resting, divide 8 cups of mixed salad greens among 4 plates.
- Slice the seared tuna into thin slices and arrange on top of the salad greens.
- Drizzle the dressing over the tuna and greens, and sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
