Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and oregano)
- 1/2 cup garlic and herb butter, softened
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 packet of active dry yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Add 1 cup of warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Spread the softened garlic and herb butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with 1/2 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh herbs.
- Starting from one end, roll the dough into a log and tuck the ends under to form a loaf shape. Place the loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cover the loaf with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
