Rooibos tea, also known as red bush tea, has a rich history rooted in South Africa. Indigenous to the Cederberg region, the tea has been enjoyed for centuries by the Khoisan people for its earthy, sweet flavor and numerous health benefits. In the 20th century, it gained popularity beyond South Africa's borders and is now cherished worldwide for its caffeine-free, antioxidant-rich properties. Chefs and restaurants across the globe have incorporated Rooibos tea into their menus, infusing it into desserts, cocktails, and savory dishes. To experience the best Rooibos tea, visit the Western Cape region of South Africa, where the plant is cultivated and harvested.
