Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped jalapenos
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups of white American cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup of whole milk
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
- Add 1/4 cup of finely chopped jalapenos, 1/4 cup of finely chopped onion, and 2 cloves of minced garlic to the saucepan. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
- Reduce the heat to low and add 2 cups of shredded white American cheese and 1/2 cup of whole milk to the saucepan. Stir constantly until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Stir in 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the queso blanco to a serving bowl and serve immediately with tortilla chips or drizzle over your favorite Mexican dishes.
