- Enjoy your delicious Pulled Jackfruit Platter!
The Pulled Jackfruit Platter has a fascinating history, originating from Southeast Asia where jackfruit is a staple. This vegan alternative to pulled pork gained popularity in the West due to its meaty texture and ability to absorb flavors. Chefs like Chef Chandra Gilbert at Gracias Madre in Los Angeles have elevated this dish, marinating jackfruit in a blend of spices and slow-cooking it to perfection. The best versions of this dish can be found in vegan and plant-based restaurants, where chefs use their creativity to craft delicious and satisfying platters. The key to a great Pulled Jackfruit Platter lies in the marination and slow-cooking process, ensuring the jackfruit absorbs all the flavors and achieves a tender, "pulled" texture.
