Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, dissolve 1 packet of active dry yeast in 1 1/2 cups of warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Add 4 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons of salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a rope. Shape the ropes into pretzels and set them aside.
  • In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water and 1/4 cup of baking soda to a boil. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Top each pretzel with 1/4 cup of pizza sauce and 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the pretzels are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Brush the baked pretzel pizzas with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sea salt before serving.
