Poppers, also known as jalapeño poppers, are a popular appetizer consisting of jalapeño peppers stuffed with cheese, breaded, and deep-fried. Originating in the United States, they have become a staple in Tex-Mex cuisine and are often served in restaurants and bars as a tasty and spicy snack. The dish has evolved over time, with variations including different types of cheese, bacon-wrapped poppers, and even vegetarian options. Today, the best jalapeño poppers can be found in Tex-Mex restaurants across the southern United States, where chefs take pride in perfecting the balance of heat from the peppers and creaminess of the cheese.
