Ingredients
- 12 fresh jalapeno peppers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
- Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture.
- Dredge each filled jalapeno in all-purpose flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees F.
- Fry the coated jalapeno poppers in batches for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Transfer the fried poppers to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the jalapenos are tender.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
