Ingredients
- 3 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 large onions, diced
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bell peppers, diced
- 4 tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup green olives, sliced
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup capers
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onions and minced garlic, and sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Once the beef is browned, add the diced bell peppers and tomatoes to the skillet, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Stir in the green olives, raisins, capers, and tomato paste, and mix well.
- Pour in the beef broth and season with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the picadillo simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Once the picadillo is ready, serve hot with rice or tortillas. Enjoy!
