Latin American

Pastelito, a beloved Latin American pastry, has a rich history dating back to the 19th century. Originating in Cuba, this delightful treat has since spread throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, each region adding its own unique twist. The pastry is typically filled with sweet or savory ingredients such as guava, cheese, or meat, and then fried to golden perfection. In Miami, Florida, renowned Cuban bakeries like Versailles and Porto's Bakery are famous for their delectable pastelitos. The key to a perfect pastelito lies in the flaky, buttery crust and the flavorful filling, making it a must-try for pastry enthusiasts.
