Onion rings chips have a rich history, believed to have originated in the United States in the early 20th century. This beloved snack is made by coating sliced onions in batter or breadcrumbs and then deep-frying them to crispy perfection. Chefs and restaurants across the country have put their own spin on this classic dish, with variations in seasoning and batter composition. The Pacific Northwest is renowned for its exceptional onion rings, with many diners and drive-ins serving up this crispy treat. The key to perfect onion rings lies in achieving a delicate balance between a crispy exterior and a tender, flavorful onion interior. For a unique twist, some chefs also grill or bake the rings for a healthier alternative.
