Ingredients
- 2 cups of old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups of diced apples
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups of old-fashioned oats, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- In another bowl, mix together 2 cups of diced apples, 1/4 cup of maple syrup, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Spread the apple mixture over the oat layer in the pan.
- Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the apple layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars. Enjoy!
