Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 2 cups of sliced mushrooms and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender. Set aside.
- Spread 1/4 cup of mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each hamburger bun.
- Place a cooked patty on each bottom bun, then top each patty with 2 slices of Swiss cheese and a generous portion of sautéed mushrooms.
- Add a slice of tomato and a handful of shredded lettuce on top of the mushrooms.
