Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to brown.
  • Add the spinach to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until wilted. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 6-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edge.
  • Divide the mushroom and spinach mixture among the dough circles, placing it on top of the marinara sauce. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the mushroom and spinach mixture.
  • Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal, then crimp with a fork to secure.
  • Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and crispy.
