Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup marinara sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to brown.
- Add the spinach to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until wilted. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 6-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edge.
- Divide the mushroom and spinach mixture among the dough circles, placing it on top of the marinara sauce. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the mushroom and spinach mixture.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal, then crimp with a fork to secure.
- Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Mushroom, Spinach, and Mozzarella Calzone!
