Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they release their moisture and become golden brown. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 8-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
- In a small saucepan, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Brush the edges of each dough circle with the melted garlic butter.
- Divide the sautéed mushrooms evenly among the dough circles, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the mushrooms.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly to seal and crimp with a fork.
- Transfer the calzones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with any remaining garlic butter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious garlic butter mushroom and mozzarella calzones!
