Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a 6-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place 1/4 cup of marinara sauce on one half of each dough circle, leaving a 1-inch border around the edge.
- Divide the sautéed mushrooms evenly among the dough circles, placing them on top of the marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and garlic powder over the mushrooms.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly to seal, then crimp with a fork.
- Transfer the calzones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Mushroom and Mozzarella Calzone!
