Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the chopped pecans, maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it out slightly to smooth the creases.
- Cut the pastry sheet into 8 equal squares.
- Spoon the pecan mixture onto the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the corners of each square over the filling and pinch the edges to seal, creating a small bundle.
- Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
- Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar.
