Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked lentils
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of cooked lentils, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup finely chopped onion, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley.
- Using your hands, mix the ingredients until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the lentil patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Toast the burger buns in the skillet or in a toaster until lightly golden.
- Assemble the lentil burgers on the toasted buns, adding optional toppings such as lettuce, tomato, avocado, and cheese.
- Serve the lentil burgers hot and enjoy!
