Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 1 lb of ground turkey, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the turkey burger patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each turkey burger patty and allow it to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on the grill until lightly golden.
- Assemble the turkey burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, topping with a generous amount of caramelized onions, and covering with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the juicy turkey burgers with caramelized onions and Swiss cheese immediately and enjoy!
