Ingredients
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 3/4 cups of buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons of caraway seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of caraway seeds.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk.
- Using a wooden spoon, mix the ingredients until they come together to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it into a round loaf shape.
- Place the dough onto a lightly floured baking sheet and use a sharp knife to score a deep cross on the top.
