Instructions

  • Preheat the grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.
  • In a bowl, season 1 lb of ground beef with 1/2 tsp of salt and 1/4 tsp of black pepper. Divide the seasoned beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
  • Place the patties on the grill or griddle and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  • While the patties are cooking, cook 8 strips of bacon in a separate pan until crispy.
  • Toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup of mayonnaise and 1/4 cup of ketchup to make the special sauce.
  • To assemble the steakburgers, spread the special sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a cooked patty with melted cheese on top of the sauce. Add 2 strips of bacon on each patty, followed by a handful of chopped lettuce, a couple of tomato slices, and some red onion slices. Top with the other half of the toasted bun.
