Ingredients
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup of whipped cream (optional)
- 1/4 cup of mini marshmallows (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat 2 cups of milk over medium heat until it starts to steam, but not boil.
- Whisk in 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until fully combined and the mixture is smooth.
- Continue to heat the hot chocolate, stirring constantly, until it is hot but not boiling.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream or mini marshmallows if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
