Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) of firm tofu, drained and cut into cubes
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, 3 cloves of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar.
  • Place the tofu cubes in a large resealable bag and add the marinade. Seal the bag and gently toss to coat the tofu. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  • After marinating, remove the tofu from the bag and reserve the marinade. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cornstarch over the tofu and toss to coat evenly.
  • In a large non-stick skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook for 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally, until all sides are golden and crispy.
  • While the tofu is cooking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Once the tofu is crispy, pour the thickened sauce over the tofu in the skillet. Toss to coat the tofu evenly with the sauce.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the honey garlic tofu to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  • Serve the honey garlic tofu hot with steamed rice or your favorite vegetables. Enjoy!
