  • 1 lb of lamb, thinly sliced
  • 4 pita bread
  • 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the plain Greek yogurt, grated and drained cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to make the tzatziki sauce. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the dried oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the thinly sliced lamb and toss to coat the meat with the seasoning.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned lamb slices and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the meat is browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or in the oven for a few minutes.
  • To assemble the gyros, spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each pita bread. Top with the cooked lamb, sliced tomato, red onion, and chopped parsley.
  • Fold the pita bread over the filling to form a gyro. Serve immediately and enjoy!
