  • 1 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the plain Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Refrigerate the tzatziki sauce until ready to use.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the sliced lamb, olive oil, dried oregano, paprika, cumin, and salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated lamb slices and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
  • Warm the pita bread in the skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • To assemble the gyro, spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each pita bread. Top with the cooked lamb, sliced tomato, red onion, and fresh parsley.
  • Fold the pita bread over the filling and serve immediately. Enjoy your homemade gyro!
