Mediterranean

Grilled zucchini has a rich history dating back to the Mediterranean region, where it was a staple in the cuisine of countries like Italy and Greece. The dish gained popularity in the United States in the 20th century as a healthy and flavorful addition to summer grilling menus. Renowned chefs like Mario Batali and Ina Garten have popularized grilled zucchini in their recipes, adding their own unique twists with herbs and seasonings. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in farm-to-table restaurants and Mediterranean eateries, where chefs emphasize the importance of using fresh, high-quality zucchini and expertly grilling it to perfection. The key to a great grilled zucchini lies in the seasoning and grilling technique, ensuring a perfect balance of smoky char and tender, flavorful zucchini. For a unique twist, some chefs also marinate the zucchini in balsamic vinegar or lemon juice before grilling, adding a tangy depth of flavor to the dish.
