Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the saucepan and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Stir in the fresh parsley and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool slightly before serving over your favorite gluten-free pasta.
