Italian

Garlic knots are a beloved Italian-American creation, believed to have originated in New York City in the 1970s. These delectable knots of dough are typically made from pizza dough, tied into knots, and then baked to golden perfection. The dough is then brushed with a mixture of garlic, olive oil, and herbs, giving it a flavorful and aromatic punch. This dish has become a staple in pizzerias across the United States, with some of the best versions found in New York and New Jersey. Chefs and home cooks alike take pride in perfecting the balance of chewy, fluffy dough and the savory, garlicky coating. For a twist, some recipes call for adding Parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes for an extra kick. Whether served as an appetizer, snack, or accompaniment to a meal, garlic knots are a must-try for any garlic and bread lover.
