Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1/4 cup of water. Set aside.

The history of Garlic Ginger Tofu Stir-fry with broccoli and carrots can be traced back to the vibrant culinary traditions of East Asia. This dish is a fusion of flavors and textures, combining the earthy richness of tofu with the aromatic punch of garlic and ginger, all brought together with the vibrant crunch of broccoli and carrots. Renowned chefs in regions like Sichuan, China, and Kyoto, Japan, have perfected this stir-fry, infusing it with their unique culinary expertise. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in authentic Asian restaurants that prioritize fresh, high-quality ingredients and skillful wok cooking. The key to mastering this dish lies in achieving the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and spicy flavors, as well as ensuring that the tofu is perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. For a twist, some chefs also incorporate alternative methods such as marinating the tofu in a flavorful sauce before stir-frying.
